Research

All of Corella Speech Pathologies therapists are actively engaged in the research community. This means that your therapist is constantly updating their skills and discovering the latest techniques in Speech Pathology. Your therapist is also an active researcher and will be contributing their own discoveries to current Speech Pathology practice. Corella believes in  bringing real-life therapy experiences to the research literature and believes the only way to know if a technique or strategy works is to try it out in the real world

Your therapist will therefore ask you if you would like to be involved in their research. You are under no obligation to do so and will still receive the highest quality of care if you choose not to participate. If you do choose to help out your therapist might use some of the data collected in your session for research purposes. They will keep your data in the strictest of confidence and no data would be published that could identify you in any way. In most cases the therapist simply keeps statistics about what was sucessful and what wasn't in therapy. For example they might record that a particular treatment was effective for 80% of their clients.

If you choose to participate you will be given a copy of your consent form and can withdraw your permission at any time. Your consent form will contain the guarantee that your therapist will never reveal your name or any other identfiying information in using this data.
