Benjamin Jardine

BSc(Hons), MSPAA, CPSP

Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist

 

Benjamin graduated from Curtin University in 2003 and has been working privately ever since. Benjamin is also an avid researcher and is currently working on developing new ways of assessing children's language development. He has almost completed a PhD investigating childhood language disorders for which he was awarded the prestigious Jean Rogerson Postgraduate Scholarship from the University of Western Australia. He is actively involved in the Speech Pathology community and is a former President of the WA Branch of Speech Pathology Australia and current WA Professional Standards Leader. Benjamin has held a variety of honorary positions throughout his career including serving on the Board of Directors (Senate) of the University of Western Australia.

Benjamin's clinical specialities lie in the areas of childhood language disorders and disorders of voice production. He is particularly interested in new technologies and their application to Speech Pathology practice, even working on inventing his own techniques through his research.

Outside of Speech Pathology Benjamin spends most of his time playing electric guitar, surfing the web or reliving his glory days as a TaeKwonDo competitor.

Sally Hodson

BSc(Hons), MSPAA

Practicing Speech Pathologist

 

Sally graduated from Curtin University in 2006 and was recently awarded a scholarship to complete a PhD in Speech Pathology at the University of Western Australia. Sally has begun to establish herself as a world expert in Speech Science, and has a particular focus on understanding why some children have difficulties producing clear and intelligible speech. Sally has previously worked at the Telethon Child Health Institute where she was involved in a study looking at the speech development of infants.

An up and coming figure in the Speech Pathology community Sally has already had the opportunity to present her research at the Speech Pathology Australia National Conference and is actively involved in both the research and clinical practice aspects of Speech Pathology. Sally's expertise is recognised by Curtin University where she is invited to present guest lectures training Speech Pathology students in new methods of assessment and treatment. Sally is also currently the Vice President of Speech Pathology Australia (WA).

A young and dynamic therapist Sally's clinical expertise lies in the area of childhood speech disorders. She is highly skilled in the application of computer technologies to Speech Pathology and is particularly adept at treating unclear speech.

When she's not practicing Speech Pathology or researching, Sally likes to participate in Gymnastics and competitive Trampolining. She is the current State Champion Trampolinist in WA.
